Hello! I'm Jonathan Salomons, the founder and heart of Naramata Wood Co. My journey into the world of woodworking began with a profound love for creating beautiful, enduring pieces. This passion led me to pursue formal education in studio woodworking at Okanagan College, a path that refined my skills and deepened my understanding of craftsmanship.
Finding Our Roots in Naramata
It was fate that brought us to the charming town of Naramata in 2012. My wife and I instantly fell in love with its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant community. It wasn't just the scenery that captivated us; it was the sense of belonging and peace we found here. When we decided to buy our forever home in Naramata, the one non-negotiable was a workshop – a dedicated space for Naramata Wood Co. to thrive.
Craftsmanship Inspired by Nature
Our studio workshop, nestled in the heart of the Okanagan, is more than just a building; it's a source of endless inspiration. Surrounded by majestic pines and stunning natural beauty, this is where creativity meets design. My personal love for the outdoors – from backcountry hiking and cross country skiing with my wife, to fishing the lakes to snowboarding Apex and Baldy – fuels my creativity. I find inspiration in the textures, colors, and organic beauty of British Columbia’s wild landscapes, which I intricately weave into every piece of furniture.
